The Boys 4A Sectional Basketball games in East Chicago are a go!

The Sectional Basketball games at East Chicago Central are still a go...like who didn't think they wouldn't be...it would take an act of congress for them not to be played.

All the schools that are suppose to be playing are still going to show up...like that was even an issue...it's to much at stake...like say a 4a boys basketball state championship...LOL

Even though there was a mini-lock down at the school after a big fight broke out...but that happens from time to time at any school...it is just certain schools, that get the headlines for it...and some keep it under wraps and the only way you will know it happened is if it was really big and the national media picked it up on the wire or some one's blog like this one.

The schools shouldn't worry in my opinion anyway...EC police department always does a good job with security and they have help with Davis Security...as firm that that has working within the EC community for years so they know all the kids plus most of the people that work for them, were once kids in the community anyway...as the owner of company has always been involved in the community...I even once worked for Davis for a few months, back in the day.

According to the nwitimes.com reporter, Carmen McCollum, she spoke to the Principles of Lowell and Lake Central and they both said that they are confident that all is well over in EC and that they will come to the tournament as usual and root their teams on for a victory.

She also spoke to the IHSAA commissioner Blake Ress and just like the Mayor on the Wire...he told them do whatever is necessary to ensure safety.

There are 7 region schools that are participating in EC are...

My {picks}
Round 1
Munster v. Highland ---Munster Win, 52-34
Lowell v. Morton ---Morton Win, 51-39
Lake Central v. Gary West Side --- West Side Win, 63-44

ECC ---bye doesn't play until Friday 2/29, and will play the winner of the Munster/Highland game

Round 2 Semi-finals Friday 2/29
ECC v. Munster ---ECC
Morton v. West Side ---West Side

Round 3 ...Sectional finals Sat 3/1
ECC v. West Side ---toss up...

The way I see it...the x-factors are DeShawn Clay(WS) and Derrell Conner(ECC) which ever has the best shooting game and both can shoot, but WS doesn't have a true ball handler at the point and Conner is sneaky good...I will save my finals pick for later on in the week. So stay tuned!
