I don't know if was just me or not... but from the tip and after the first few minutes of the game, I knew that ND would have an easy time with the Cinderella from 2 years ago, George Mason.
I thought George Mason would give Notre Dame just a little more run...but instead allowed their starters to run on auto-pilot for the entire game... and I think most of us from the region only watched to see what Luke Harangody would do and do it, he did... filling up the stat line with a nice effortless double-double 18 pts and 14 boards...can't ask for more than that and I know I was proud to see another NWI product do their thang on a bigger stage as he has done all year at Notre Dame... to lead his #5 seeded team to an easy beat-down of #12 seeded George Mason even after that BS demotivated pre-game speech that Coach Jim Larranaga, he should have borrowed something from Barack Obama... opps I mean Deval Patrick.
Side Note...Can the folks over at ESPN and everywhere else pronounce Harangody's name correctly or at least come to a common census of how to pronouce it. Maybe a deep run in the tourney they will finially get it right
In the end the score ended with the Fighting Irish getting that paper out of the trash in George Mason's locker room and making them eat their words.
at the final buzzer...
